On October 1 at 6:30pm, VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment will be hosting a free screening of the documentary In a Different Key at the Paramount Theater. The documentary follows the story of a mother who tracks down the first person ever diagnosed with autism, now an elderly man in rural Mississippi, to learn if his life story holds promise for her own autistic son. Treehouse Tales

Join students from the UVA School of Education and Human Development on October 30 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm at the Bennett's Village Treehouse as they share favorite Fall stories like Pete the Cat Falling for Autumn and Room on the Broom. Children of all ages and abilities can get involved for this fun afternoon of storytelling with adaptations such as easy page turners puppets spinner games communication supports Stories in Braille and Spanish will be available.

Botanical Garden of the Piedmont Fairy House Building/Fall Festival

Bennett's Village will be hosting a craft activity at the Botanical Garden of the Piedmont’s Fall Festival on Saturday, November 2nd from 10am to 12pm. Volunteers will assist participants with building their own accessible fairy houses using natural materials (stay tuned for a call for acorns, twigs, pinecones, and other materials used to make the houses).
